The Governor of Alaska?!?!?!....

I think that is what most people said when they found out that John McCain had selected Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate. As soon as it was announced I know many people were "googling" her to find out more. What they found is that she is a mother of five, a first term governor, a former union member "fisherwoman", a high school basketball star, pro-life, anti-abortion and conservative. I knew of her prior to Friday. What I knew about her I liked and as I learn more about her I like her more. I never thought that she would be his choice...I thought she was a long shot as did most of the country...I was SOOO excited on Friday. I watched her introduction to the nation and her speech.

The majority of you that read my blog and know me know that I am a Republican. However first and foremost I am a Christian. I believe as Christian we are called to be involved in the decisions that are made in our country. I don't think you have to work on a campaign, run for office or even donate to political campaigns...I do think it is our responsibility to vote...which is an opportunity for our voices to be heard. As a Christian and Republican I am very excited for someone like Sarah Palin to be on the ticket.

So vote in November!

He Isn't Nicholas Sparks...

But I'm still excited about his book release. Governor Huckabee's new book will be released on Tuesday, November 18, 2008.

This book will be about his presidential campaign and the people he met along the campaign trail.

Well The Olympics Are Over...

And new shows do not start until the end of September and early October. What is on TV to watch? I have the answer. This week you can watch the Democratic National Convention. Next week you can watch the Republican National Convention. The DNC started tonight and will end on Thursday night.

The RNC starts Labor Day and will end the following Thursday. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee will speak on Tuesday, September 2 at the Republican National Convention. It should be awesome!

Bible Study...

I still love Tennessee and my job. Work is going great.

I'm starting a Bible study in September at Fellowship Bible Church. I'm looking forward to the study. I will be in a class with women I do not know. This makes me nervous but I'm also look forward to getting to know new people.

The name of the study is As Silver Refined by Kay Arthur. Here is a little bit about the study - Someone you love disappoints you; your hope has turned to despair; you want to just give up. Kay Arthur compassionately shows from Scripture that the times you feel life slipping through your fingers are the very moments when you are most securely held in the grip of God's love. His purpose is to deepen your faith in the power He gives you to patiently endure -- until a sterling character is revealed and you are polished to reflect the gleaming image of the Silversmith.

I will keep you posted and let you know how the study is going. Chances are I will be sharing some of snippets of the study throughout the fall!
