The Not List...

While I was at the flea market on Saturday I noticed a few things that I wouldn't buy at the flea market or things I wouldn't do at the flea market.

There are a few things I wouldn't buy at a flea market tampons, underwear, bras and medicine. Things I wouldn't do at a flea market get a massage, get my teeth whitened or wear heels.

I couldn't believe you could get your teeth whitened at the flea market BUT you can. I also don't know how much I could relax with everyone walking by while I was getting a massage.

Just a few thoughts!

The Flea Market...

I had a GREAT weekend with my parents. They got here on Friday afternoon. We went to dinner and to downtown Franklin to walk around.

Saturday morning we went the the flea market. There are two different parts of the flea market. One part is like Holiday House and the old Memphis Flea Market (when it came to town) all rolled into one on steroids. Everything you can think of there...all new stuff. Then there is the real "flea market' part of the flea market. It has antiques, vintage clothes and furniture pretty much anything you can think of. Mom and Dad spent their time in the "flea market". I went to the "new stuff". They did better than I did. I didn't buy a single thing...they did :) We did some more running around and went on a drive on Saturday afternoon.

We had breakfast this morning and they got on the road. They are back home in Arkansas! We had so much fun!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Week In Review...

Well it has been a really busy week at work.....that's great! It was CRAZY busy yesterday and today. I have a bunch of stuff to get done tomorrow morning. I will be leaving early tomorrow afternoon...why? MY PARENTS ARE COMING FOR A VISIT....WOOOOHOOOOO! I cleaned the apartment and baked cookies tonight to get ready for their visit. I'm very excited.

We are going to go to the flea market in Nashville on Saturday. The April flea market is the BIG spring flea market. It will also be a great weekend of the flea market. It will be in low 80s on Saturday.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

One Year...

Well I'm a little late on this post! I've been here ONE YEAR! I made it one year at my job...I had my doubts at times. I had kind of gotten use to doing my own thing at work so it has been an adjustment.

I'm so excited...ONE YEAR...I personally never really thought I would make it...living away from my friends and family BUT I made it.

A few weeks ago I signed another year lease on my apartment...that's exciting.
I'm still enjoying getting to know my new town and area. I still have a lot to learn. There are still a lot of places I would like to go in Tennessee.

Happy ONE YEAR in Tennessee to me!

Road Trips...

I'm a fan of road trips. The perfect road trip for me is if I don't have to drive! Well when I drive home I have to drive.

I'm always seeing things on the way to and from Arkansas that would be great blog posts...most of the time I can't remember them. I also think about what a great photo this or that would be...however most of the time I'm in such a hurry to get to Arkansas or get back to Tennessee I don't take the time.

The other great thing about road trips are the snacks. Well I love convenience store/truck stop food i.e. corn dogs, hot dogs and burritos. Yes that's right burritos. Well on the way back from Arkansas this past weekend I stopped and picked up a corn dog. It was the NASTIEST corn dog I had ever had it was so gross. I think it may have been in the little warmer thing for about a week...maybe longer...I was so disappointed.

I love the turn the radio up and sing. I have the radio up and I'm singing, I think to myself, "I'm not that bad"...then I turn the radio down a bit to hear myself and the truth is I am that bad. I suspect I will get a call from some famous singer, group or duo BEGGING me to STOP singing their songs!

Something else that happens while I'm driving between Franklin and Wooster is that I see things that I think my friends/family would think are funny. So I think it would be great if randomly different folks could hang out with me on my way to and from.

I should really start writing stuff down but that really causes a problem if you are trying to drive. So I think I need a driver. I've always thought that would be my one luxury in life if I had the option.

You know the game if you had the money what would you get...a big house, a new car, a maid the list goes on. As for me it would be a driver!

Kinda BLAH...

Well I made it home safely on Sunday evening. It rained all the way home. So it was a stressful drive.

I usually get a headache after the drive from Arkansas to Tennessee. This trip was not any different. I'm not sure why I get the headaches but I do. I've been able to work but have had a headache since early Monday morning

BLAH...

Happy Easter....

I hope everyone has had a great week! Not too bad for me. I started the week with a migraine...not so great! I made the drive to Wooster on Thursday night. I'm spending the Easter weekend in Arkansas.

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Easter Sunday!

One of my favorite hymns:
Low in the grave He lay,
Jesus my Savior,
Waiting the coming day,
Jesus my Lord!

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Vainly they watch His bed,
Jesus my Savior;
Vainly they seal the dead,
Jesus my Lord!

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Death cannot keep its Prey,
Jesus my Savior;
He tore the bars away,
Jesus my Lord!

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

One Of My New Favorite Books...

I read through this book all the time. Some of the things in the book I just can't change...For example peanut butter...I have no desire to eat almond butter...sorry can't do it. There are a few things that I have changed due to the book.
They also have Eat This Not That for restaurants...I've looked through it but I haven't bought it yet.

What Are These?!?!

Well they are called YogaToes, Toe Stretchers or ProFoot Flex-tastic. I can't remember what the name of these are but I got them at Wal-Mart.

They are suppose to:

  • Exercise your feet to stay healthy & in shape.
  • Improve & prevent foot problems by stretching & aligning your toes.
  • Ease the discomfort of Hammertoes, Bunions & Plantar Fasciitis.
  • Recover from stress, strain & overuse.
  • Improve foot strength, flexibility & appearance.
  • Increase circulation, straighten bent toes, & realign joints.

They look like these on....

I wear them when I watch TV. I'll keep you posted on the progress of my feet. I will tell you they feel great when I have these little guys on...

Leipers Fork...

It was a BEAUTIFUL day! I went to Leipers Fork. There really isn't a lot going on in Leipers Fork....however I did enjoy my trip. It was a beautiful drive. There were some very cute shops and a couple of places to eat. I felt a bit out of place without leather or spandex. There were a ton of motorcycle riders and bicycle riders. It was a great day for a ride. Below are some pics from the trip...the cute shops, houses and the General Lee!

HAPPY Friday...

It has been a pretty quiet week around here. Work is good and quiet. We have had our fair share of rainy/stormy weather. It is only going to be in the high 50s/low 60s today and morning showers. However tomorrow will be sunshine and in the 70s...I'm very excited.

Tomorrow I'm going to Leipers Fork. It is a Registered National Historic District and contains some of the few remaining examples of late 19th century architecture once characteristic of villages in Williamson County (I borrowed that from the website). Hopefully there will be some photo opportunities...if so I will post some pics after my visit.

Then next week I'll start getting ready for a trip to Arkansas for Easter. We are off work on Friday so I'll be driving in Thursday night after work...

Happy Anniversary to my Dad and Mom...on Saturday!

Also, good luck to my favorite brother on his BIG test tomorrow...I know you will do great!

Have a great weekend!

Last Week...

Jody and Jodi came for a visit last week. They were here Wednesday-Saturday. We had lots of fun and a great visit.

On Thursday night we went to The Opry...the Grand Ole Opry. It was a night of classic country. There were lots of people that played I didn't know. Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin brothers, Lorrie Morgan and Loretta Lynn....they played...I know them. A good part of the night was a tribute to Patsy Cline. They were all so good and we had fun. Pictures from the night at the Opry are below. I changed my playlist to celebrate the night at the Opry...I hope you enjoy!

Friday and Saturday we did a little shopping and I showed them around Franklin. I'm so glad that they came for a visit.

My mom and dad will be here next for a visit....I'm SUPER EXCITED! I'm currently taking reservations into the fall for visits to Tennessee....let me know if you would like to come for a visit!

Just a warning...I'm not great with directions ask Jody & Jodi or Blake & Kristen...I've learned a lot but I seldom go straight to a place usually at least one turn around is required...

The Night At The Opry...

Migraine Free Month...

Yes you read that correctly...I have gone a full month without a migraine. It has actually been a bit longer than a month...it is 6 weeks AND counting.

Not to say I haven't had a headache BUT I haven't had a stay in bed, lights off, no sound, no work migraine. I've also been very cautious when I think I might be getting one or I have that "just before a migraine" feeling I go home, eat dinner and go to bed.

I know that one of those things could be around the corner...but I'm so very thankful for these 6 weeks without a migraine.

SIDE NOTE: I was reading about migraines on line the other day and a took a migraine quiz. The point was "how much do you know about migraines?". I made a perfect score...sad but true.
